Viscosity Measurements

Viscosity measures the internal resistance of a fluid to flow or change its shape. Since of its molecular makeup, a fluid with a high viscosity opposes motion as it has high internal friction. When a fluid has a low viscosity, it flows easily because its molecular nature causes very little friction. In simple words, the viscosity describes the thickness of a fluid, for instance water flows easily as it has low viscosity as compared to honey.

It is critical for manufacturers to collect data on their product’s viscosity to predict the flow properties before commercializing the product. The viscosity of any product is adjusted according to the use and application domain to get the desired effects. In our laboratory we use advance viscometer to measure the viscosity of any liquid from construction, food and beauty, research, pharmaceutical, or health sector.
